County-wide Ethnic Mix
THANK YOU! The information collection process for Census 2020 was a huge success in Delaware County. The County had one of the best self-response rates in the state, all because our residents understood the importance of being counted! Because of the unique challenges that defined 2020, the information will be slow to release. The schedule below is constantly changing and we will try to update it as new information becomes available.

The United States Constitution requires that every 10 years a Census shall be conducted to apportion the United States House of Representatives. The first Census began on August 2, 1790 when the total United States population was 3,919,214 people.
Census information impacts the daily lives of residents, informing important decisions about funding for services and facilities in the community, including health care, senior centers, jobs, roads, schools and businesses. More than $675 billion in federal funding flows back to states and local communities each year based on census data.
Responses to the Census are secure and protected by federal law. Your answers can only be used to produce statistics—they cannot be used against you in any way. By law, all household and business survey responses to the U.S. Census Bureau are kept completely confidential.
