Delaware County Parks and Trails

As in many communities, Delaware County maintains a de-centralized system of parks and trails. Preservation Parks is a county-wide organization with several conservation-style parks in its inventory. Columbus Metroparks maintains Highbanks Metropark as its northern-most park. Cities, like Powell, Delaware, Westerville, and Sunbury have parks and trails that they maintain. Several growing townships, like Liberty, Orange, and Genoa, have money dedicated to park and trail development. Smaller growing townships, such as Concord, Berlin, and Berkshire, are looking at trail and park development…sometimes as a part of rezoning and development projects. DCRPC maintains a map that attempts to reflect all these facilities. You can see it by selecting the Map Center tab above.

Other resources include sites like Alltrails.com. and Ohio Trails by ODNR. Check them out.

The Delaware County Commissioners provide a grant program for trail construction. Details about the grant program, including a pdf map, are included below.
